We are restyling the old desk to be a sewing table. The seating area was too small for a chair to fit under and work comfortably while sewing. SA removed the top and rough sanded the whole thing. We are going to use a longer piece of wood (from and old stereo cabinet) for the new top. It also requires the front leg be repositioned further out for more leg room, as well as two legs be added to the end of the longer top. I am still looking for some old-new legs or maybe SA can build me something that will work.
I think it will be painted a washed out white with a little aqua. I will probably leave the top its existing color, an dark brown stain, because it is in very good shape and I think it will make a nice contrast with the bottom, once it is painted.
